About Our Practice
At Green Mountain Psychological Services, we offer compassionate, personalized counseling and psychological services for adolescents and adults in Williamsburg, Virginia. We proudly provide services in English and Spanish to meet the diverse needs of our community. We bring a culturally responsive, strengths-based approach to every evaluation and therapy relationship, and we tailor each plan to the individual-never one-size-fits-all.
We are a Private Pay Practice
This means we do not bill insurances directly and allows us to:
Provide highly personalized and flexible care
Maintain your privacy and keep records confidential.
Offer services that are not restricted by insurance limitations.
If you have out-of-network benefits, we’re happy to provide a superbill (an itemized receipt) you can submit to your insurance provider for possible reimbursement. We’re also available to discuss fees, payment plans, and whether our services are a good fit for your needs.
We are committed to transparent and ethical billing practices
At Green Mountain Psychological Services, you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes for:
Therapy Sessions
Psychological Evaluations and Assessments
Consultation, feedback sessions, and report writing
We will provide your Good Faith Estimate in writing before your first appointment or upon request at any time.
For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises

We are PSYPACT-authorized
We offer secure, virtual psychological services-including therapy and assessment- to clients not only in Virginia, but also in other PSYPACT participating States.
This means that if you live in or move to another PSYPACT state, you may still be able to work with us via telehealth without interruption.
The Psychology Interjurisdictional Compact (PSYPACT) is an agreement that allows licensed psychologists to provide telepsychology services across state lines in participating states. Currently Dr. Monteverde is a PSYPACT member (APPIT# 21309) – if you are in a PSYPACT state you may inquire about receiving therapy or assessment services with her.
